Each matchup starts with the decision, the hold price, and the reason the market is or is not worth paying.

Washington Wizards @ Miami Heat

Pass if
Miami stays -18 or higher

Miami was the better team and had the cleaner home setup, but the market had already pushed this into full-tax territory. At -18 to -18.5, you were paying for the exact blowout script the board expected.

Washington's latest official report also got cleaner than it looked earlier, with Bilal Coulibaly, Tre Johnson, and Justin Champagnie available. That was enough extra late-game scoring resistance to make a huge favorite harder to trust. The right read was still Miami superiority, but not at that price.

San Antonio Spurs @ Denver Nuggets

Play
Nuggets +1.5
Pass if
Worse than +1

This was the only current pregame number with real daylight left. The market had already moved from Spurs -2.5 to -1.5, but Denver still had the better situational case with home court, extra rest, and altitude helping close the raw team-quality gap.

The core injury report was clean enough that this was no longer a news game first. Denver's edge was mostly structural: the steadier half-court floor, the home environment, and a better chance to hold up late in what was now priced close to a toss-up. The hook mattered, though. Once +1.5 became +1 or worse, the cushion got thin fast.

Detroit Pistons @ Philadelphia 76ers

Pass if
Jalen Duren and Tobias Harris are still unresolved

The obvious Embiid-out adjustment had already happened. Detroit moved from -1.5 to -2.5, which meant the easy version of the Pistons case was already priced into the current market.

What remained was too conditional to force pregame. Detroit still had meaningful lineup hinges with Duren and Tobias Harris questionable, and those statuses directly affected the size, rebounding, and rim-pressure edge that would make Detroit attractive. Until that resolved, this was a volatility game, not a clean entry.
